History:

Amaterasu is a guardian and goddess for the people of Nippon. She is originally known as the guardian of the sun and a mother of many elements of the earth and sky. She is most famous for her battle against the dark demon known as Orochi, the 8 headed serpent. During this battle Amaterasu took on the form of a wolf in order to battle the demon. She ended up sacrificing herself in order to help the legendary hero- Nagi defeat the demon. After the battle the people of Nippon enshrined her body so that she may always watch over her people. She has lost most of her powers due to her struggle with Orochi and has become weak with age.

Personality:

Amaterasu tends to remain in her 'wolf' form most of the time. Her personality during this time shows that she is very intelligent and graceful. She is an attentive listener to all those who are troubled and she often does her best in order to right the many wrongs that weaker persons suffer. She is also a fearless spirit who is not afraid to face challenges that lie before her, even in wolf form. She is not able to communicate verbally in this form, which may provide more challenges than help.

When she is in her 'human' form she gives off an air of calmness and tranquillity. She gives off a "motherly" aura and is not hesitant when taking someone under her wing for comfort. She is a spiritual individual by nature and can be rather patient. She is quick to temper though when those around her are threatened and she is quick to attack forces who oppose her.

Appearance:

In human form Amaterasu takes on the appearance of a young maiden. Her hair is bright white and her eyes a deep crimson color. She also wears a traditional kimono which covers all of her body. She may also be seen carrying a katana at her side.

In wolf form Amaterasu appears as a snow-white wolf with strange crimson markings along her face and sides. A holy shield can also appear upon her back when she charges into battle.
